The publishing arm of UMass Dartmouth’s Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture is releasing a colorful book titled “A Children’s History of Portugal,” which is believed to be the first history of Portugal for very young readers published in English.
The book was translated by Ines Lima, a PhD candidate in Luso-Afro-Brazilian Studies and Theory at UMass Dartmouth. Tagus Press Executive Editor Mario Pereira and Administrative Assistant Lisa Tavares also worked on the book along with input in the editing process from their young children to assure the best possible experience for native English-language readers.
