SHS Key Club Has Another Influential Year

Posted

Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Seekonk High School's Key Club abides by these pillars with their 90 members. Under the advisor, Mrs. Marinucci, and student leaders, the club had another successful and influential year. Throughout the 2014-2015 calendar school year it was unusual to attend a community event without a Key Club member in attendance. The Seekonk High School Key Club was very visible and active throughout the area, volunteering at various events. From tutoring every week at the Middle School and babysitting at PTO meetings to volunteering at events at Aiken and Martin Elementary Schools, Key Clubbers were very busy. Other events included Pumpkin Something, Father-Daughter Dances, Evening of Giving, the Town Tree Lighting and the Taste of the Towns. The SHS Key Club conducted their 17th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday hosting over 250 children for an Easter egg hunt and games. The Key Club members’ efforts allowed them to grow as citizens and make the world a better place. The club looks forward to continuing the tradition and providing service for years to come.
