The Latest News for You about Seekonk Library Services

Posted

March 16, 2020

Dear Friends,

We want to thank you for the support you have shown your community library, and library staff, during these challenging days. We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with some library updates:

  • Beginning March 17, staff will be available between 9 AM and 4 PM to answer your questions via telephone, email, or social media messaging. Should you leave a message, a staff person will return your call between the designated hours of 9 AM to 4 PM.
  • All due dates on items due March 12 or later have been extended to April 15. We encourage you to stay safe and not worry about returning your library items.
  • We encourage you to continue to place holds on library items. This will not only reserve your spot in line, it will also tell us what titles are in demand.
  • The Commonwealth Catalog request option and Interlibrary Loan services will be shut down until further notice effective Monday, March 16, 2020, as the statewide library delivery services have been temporarily halted.
  • Should you register for a library card online, you will have access to the digital formats provided by OverDrive and the statewide accessible databases for 60 days.

As the situation with COVID-19 is fluid, we will continue to notify our community of any changes in our status. We encourage you to routinely check our website and social media channels for any updates.

Our staff will continue to share additional resources that are available for individuals and families over the coming weeks.

Lastly, we encourage you to stay informed by visiting the Centers for Disease Control, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and Town of Seekonk web sites.

Sincerely,
Peter Fuller, Director
Kathleen Hibbert, Associate Director
