T. “Jack” Miller

T. “Jack” Miller, 92, of Seekonk, passed away on September 1, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband to Betty E. (Hunt) Miller, who was the love of his life.

Born on December 8, 1924, in Fosters, Michigan, he was the son of the late Thomas and Wally (Geibert) Miller.

Jack grew up in Michigan and graduated from Birch Run High School. After high school, Jack proudly enlisted in the US Army, from which he was honorably discharged in 1946. He also attended and graduated from Michigan State College in 1951 with a degree in Forestry. During college, he was a member of the Forestry Club.

A successful career in Sales allowed Jack and Betty to enjoy many parts of the Country. He started his family in Lewiston, Idaho. He then moved around and lived in Clarkston, Washington; Eugene, Oregon; New Jersey; and Albany, New York; Jack and his family settled in Seekonk in 1964 and resided there until his passing.

Jack was a successful salesman with Weyerhaeuser from 1951-until his retirement in 1987. He was active in his community, being a part of many clubs, organizations and sports leagues. He volunteered as a Boy Scout leader and Little League coach. He enjoyed regular outings with the local pitch and cribbage club and bowling leagues with Betty. Jack was dedicated to his faith, being a congregant of Our Lady of Mount Caramel Church in Seekonk.

Jack loved attending all of his childrens’, grand-childrens’ and great grandchildrens' sporting and educational events. He enjoyed traveling with Betty. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, woodworking, and doing handyman repairs around the house. When he could no longer make it to the local bowling league, he competed on the Nintendo WII, completing many 300 games. Above all Jack’s fondest and happiest memories were made when he was in the company of his treasured family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children, Thomas Miller and his wife Susan, Steven Miller and his wife Maureen, Dave Miller and his wife Wendy Waskin, and Tracey (Miller) Archambault and her husband Robert; his beloved grandchildren, Eric Miller and his wife Erin, Bethany (Miller) McCann and her husband Bo, Katie Miller and her partner Troy Perry, Brenna Miller, Corey Miller and his wife Stephanie, Aaron Miller and his wife Jennifer, Lee Miller, Bobby Archambault, Kaila Archambault and her partner Enio Pacheco, Cody Archambault and his partner Gabby Kabitte, Jesse Archambault, and Jarret Archambault; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Sophia, Olive, Simon and Eloise; he will also be sadly missed by his many nephews and nieces in the US and his extended family in Germany, and Chunchun, Darah, Tessa and Andrew Waskin, to whom Jack was a surrogate grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas M., Walter and Carl Miller; and his sister, Lillian Woidka.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held. There are no calling hours.
