September 11th Observance Ceremony 2017

Posted

Please join the Town of Seekonk and the Seekonk Schools in commemorating the 16th anniversary of the terrible loss this nation suffered as the result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The ceremony will be held on Monday, September 11th at 6:00 PM at the Public Safety Complex on Taunton Avenue.

We will mourn those who lost their lives that day and in subsequent efforts to restore security to this country, as well as those who lost their lives in the continuous battle against terrorism. We will pay tribute to our courageous public safety employees and veterans, and to Seekonk residents who participated in the long and difficult task to clean-up at the World Trade Center site.

The Seekonk Police and Fire Honor Guards will present the colors and elementary school children will lead in the Pledge of Allegiance. The invocation will be given by Rev. Joy Utter, and benediction will be given by Reverend John Amaral.

The Seekonk High School Brass Ensemble will play under the direction of the High School Music Director John Smialek. In addition to a bagpiper, there will be guest speakers. Please bring chairs.

We must never forget.
