Posted

Seekonk Police are looking for new recruits and has produced a YouTube video promoting the department.

“The town of Seekonk is a unique place to work,” Town Administrator Shawn Cadime said. “The community here is supportive of its’ officers. Working here offers the right candidate the opportunity to work in a family-like team environment.”

“Seekonk Police officers get to help people in the town of Seekonk every single day,” said Police Chief Dean Isabella. “Officers can do that through responding to calls for service, responding to an emergency or apprehending a perpetrator.”

Isabella noted members of the department also have the opportunity to engage with the community by holding different events throughout the year.

The video also explains the many different roles officers play in the department, from working as a detective to serving as a school resource officer.

Captain Mathew Jardine said the department offers competitive pay, annual step increases, medical benefits, an education incentive, a pension program, and up to five weeks paid vacation per year.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid drivers’ license, and no felony convictions.

You can apply by visiting seekonk-ma.gov/police department and clicking on the now hiring line for information about the entrance exam.
