Seekonk High Portuguese Club Steps up Support Angels’ Care Closet, Inc. and Fellow Students

Posted

Seekonk High School’s Portuguese Club members coming together to support others - that's the Warrior Way!

In January, Angels’ Care Closet announced their “Share the Love” drive to provide low-income students with food during February break, as free school breakfast and lunch would not be provided. The Seekonk High School Portuguese Club reached out and wanted to help! They took our wish list and setup a collection box at school and shared our mission through their social media. In addition to collecting many of our wish list item from their peers and families, they also came to the storefront on a Saturday morning and assembled the bags filled with snacks and easy-to-make meals for distribution.

Thanks to the help from the Seekonk High Portuguese Club and many local residents, we were able to provide 5 days of easy breakfasts, lunches, and snack items to sustain our young friends during school break. We were able to complete 89 bags of the 100-bag goal and passed them out to local students the week of Valentine’s Day. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible and participated in “Sharing the Love” for those in need. We will do another “Share the Love” drive for Spring Break for anyone interested in helping.
