Posted

Newman Congregational Church, United Church of Christ is committed to providing educational opportunities and dialogue on structural racism, white supremacy, and how these things play out in our community and our nation. As part of that work, we invite the wider community to participate in our monthly book discussions.

In October, we will read and discuss together Clint Smith’s How the Word is Passed: A Reckoning With the History of Slavery Across America.

Sessions are being held using the Zoom online platform on Monday evenings, October 4, 11 and 18 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

Interested in participating? Visit our website and register at www.newmanucc.org/ministires/racial-justice or contact Pastor Timoth Sylvia at 401-434-4742 ext. 11 with questions.

Upcoming Discussions:

November - It's Time to Talk (and Listen): How to Have Constructive Conversations About Race, Class, Sexuality, Ability & Gender in a Polarized World by Anatasia S. Kim and Alicia del Prado
