June A. Evans

June A. Evans of Seekonk passed away on Friday June 30, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was surrounded by loved ones. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William J. Evans and Annabelle (King) Evans. June worked as an office manager as well as owning her own business before retiring. She was a graduate of East Providence High School, Class of 1959. June was an avid gardener, crafter, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family at the Peppertree Campground in Eastford, CT. Devoted to family, June is survived by many who called her mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. They were the focus of her full and beautiful life. Her family includes one son Corey Soderlund and his wife Shanna of Little Compton, one daughter Kristina (Soderlund) Maxwell and her husband James of Athol, MA, two sisters Jill Evans of Seekonk, Muriel Evans of NJ, one brother John Evans and his wife Nancy of Seekonk. As part of her chosen family, June is survived by Wendy (Hurd) Lavoie of Saylorsburg PA, Cindy Hurd of Seekonk, and Jeff Hurd of East Providence. The light of her life were all the children she called her grandchildren. They are Tristan Soderlund, Elias Soderlund, Sarina Soderlund, Zackariah Maxwell, Lillian June Maxwell, Christian Vachon, Chase Soderlund, Nicole Vachon, Amber Vachon, Jason Normand, Stephen Normand, Lindsay Saez, Nicholas Saez, Joseph Vieira and Julia Vieira. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to the Seekonk Animal Shelter, 100 Peck St, Seekonk, MA 02771. Her funeral and burial will be private.
