Jim Danielson

Posted

Jim Danielson passed away peacefully on May 7, 2020.  He was a loving husband to Kelly and loving and supportive father to Ben and their dog, Sweetie.  He is survived by his mother Patricia (Boyle) Danielson, his sister Ellen Hacunda wife of John Hacunda, his brother Hugh Danielson, his sister Grace Bolduc wife of Paul Bolduc, and 3 nieces and 3 nephews.  He was also a brother to Eric Danielson and Paul Danielson who predeceased him.

Jim graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University and North Eastern University with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business.  He worked as an Operations Manager and Principal Engineer at Raytheon.

In Jim’s 16 years at Raytheon, he advanced from his role as a Manufacturing Engineer working on the production floor building underwater sensors, to serving as an Operations Integrated Product Team Leader, leading teams of engineers and technicians in the assembly, integration and test of advanced underwater systems. Jim was widely regarded as an expert in the underwater sensor processing field and has led numerous multimillion dollar research & development projects and production projects in both the unclassified and classified realms. He was sought after by many programs for his ingenuity and his creativity and he was well liked by everyone who knew him.

He also worked as a college professor at Roger Williams University and Johnson and Wales University.  Jim participated as a volunteer and as a Chaplin for Boy Scouts, Troop 1 and Troop 9 in Seekonk, MA.  He was an avid sailor and was formerly a member of the Narragansett Terrace Yacht Club.  Jim was a 33rd degree Mason.

What he loved most was his family and being Ben’s father.  He spent as much time as he could with him.  He was a great role model.  People who knew him know that he had a terrific sense of humor and was always finding a way to make people laugh.  He was an amazing human being and will be missed greatly.
