James P. Lowery

James P. Lowery, 58, of Seekonk, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (O’Clair) Perry-Lowery of Seekonk.

Born on Oct. 20, 1958, in Carrollton, Georgia, he was the devoted son of Karen (Smith) Luiz and her husband Daniel and the late James Orbie Lowery. James was educated in Alabama and Attleboro and spent most of his life in Seekonk. He graduated with the Class of 1977 from Ranburne High School.

He served in the United States Army, from 1977 to 1983, achieving the rank of PV1.

James held various positions of employment throughout his life, mostly in the automotive industry. Over the course of his many years of employment, he worked for Allied Auto Parts, formerly Glynn’s Automotive, and CARQUEST.

James had many hobbies and interests: he loved to hunt, fish, construct models, and he was also an avid New England sports fan, NASCAR fan, and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

In addition to his wife, mother, and stepfather, James is survived by his stepson, Christopher Perry of Seekonk; his step-granddaughter, Faith Perry of Seekonk; his siblings, Kim Lowery-Lewis and her husband Reid of North Carolina, Paul Luiz and his wife Viyada of Attleboro, John Luiz of Maine, Julie Luiz of Attleboro, and Elizabeth Luiz of Hyannis; his faithful friend “Sam”; and also many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

In addition to his late father, James is predeceased by his late step-granddaughter, Paige Perry.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro.

A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
