Community Autism Resources, (CAR), Invites You to Join in a Fun-Filled Day for the Entire Family and Community!

Community Autism Resources, a 501c3 nonprofit community service organization created by families, provides a variety of vital services, at NO cost, to over 4000 families whose children and adult sons/daughters have an autism spectrum disorder. They have provided these services and supports for 30 years! The families and professionals they serve live/work in 82 cities and towns across Southeastern MA, including the Cape and Islands, which comprise their service region.

CAR will host their 18th annual Hearts & Hands Walk/5K for Autism and Family Fun Day, with the addition of the “Walk After Dark” for autistic adults. All the money raised, through this event, stays in the local communities and helps provide free services, supports and resources to children, teens, adults, and their families living with an autism spectrum disorder. The Family Fun Day is a thank you to all for their generous support and efforts in taking action.

“Connecting local families is one of the primary reasons CAR exists and why this event is so important,” said Crystal Medeiros, Director of Development & Event Coordinator. “This is the signature fundraiser for Community Autism Resources and is so crucial for our organization. We need the support of our community more now than ever, as our fundraising efforts have suffered tremendously over the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve made some exciting changes to our event, and we have an incredible raffle this year! As a mother, to an autistic non-speaking teenager, and a professional in the field, I can whole heartedly say that all the smiles and excitement I see at this event, truly are like no other.”
