Christopher J. Fazekas, 40, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Jamie L. (Whitten) Fazekas. Chris was born in Nuremberg, Germany, and lived in Seekonk for most of his life. He was a son of Lynn M. (Starrett) Fazekas of Seekonk and the late Robert A. Fazekas.

Chris worked for the past fifteen years as a Union Painter and was a member of District DC #35, Painters Union/Local 1138, Boston. Chris began his career studying as a journeyman painter. He was proud to have worked on the restoration of the Redwood Library in Newport, Rhode Island and especially proud to have served as a foreman on the restoration of Fenway Park.

In his free time, Chris enjoyed listening to all genres of music, following news media (particularly MSNBC) and was an avid sports fan. Above all, Chris loved spending time with his stepson, Jack, who was his pride and joy. He also prided himself as an amateur chef and loved to cook all kinds of meals for his family and friends.

Chris will be remembered for his larger than life personality, great sense of humor and ability to truly light up a room with his presence.

Besides his loving mother and beloved wife, he leaves two stepchildren, Jack and Cassandra Whitten and two brothers, Ryan S. Fazekas and Andrew S. Fazekas both of Pawtucket. Chris also leaves extended family and many close friends including, Brian Dumont of Seekonk.

Services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with his late father will follow in Seekonk Cemetery. VISITATION will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. If desired, memorial gifts to the family, for a college trust fund to be set up for Chris’s stepchildren, would be appreciated.
