A Fresh Perspective on Women’s History in Virtual Library Program

Posted

Seekonk, MA – 1/15/22 – The always engaging team from Grounded Goodwife returns with a virtual herstory unsanitized presentation for Seekonk Library, Suffragettes in Corselettes on Wednesday, March 9 at 6 PM. In this program for Women's History month, you will enjoy the fascinating history of women's undergarments and what it reveals about women’s changing roles in society. For centuries, women allowed themselves to be conformed to desired shapes. Did the demise of tightlacing help women gain the right to vote in 1920? Underwear matters. This free program will be held in Zoom; Register online at www.seekonkpl.org/events  to receive the login information to attend.

The presenter for this program is the mother/daughter duo Grounded Goodwife, Ehris Urban & Velya Jancz-Urban. In their herstory unsanitized presentations they strive to explore the engrossing “taboo” topics omitted from history. Audiences will be alternately chuckling and aghast!
