Ronald Roger Gagne Sr., 58, of Seekonk, passed away on December 31, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband to Lynn (Smith) Gagne of Seekonk.

Born on October 29, 1958, in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Roland and Lorraine (Goulet) Gagne.

Ronald was a 1977 graduate of Seekonk High School. After high school, he received his certification in fire safety and as an emergency medical technician. He was a volunteer fireman and EMT for the town of Seekonk for over 19 years and also a special police officer for the town of Seekonk for 13 years.

All while volunteering his time for the town of Seekonk he owned and operated National Welding and Boiler Works in Pawtucket, RI. He was currently employed as a foreman at Alternative Creative Energy & HVAC in Blackstone, MA.

Ronald was an avid NASCAR and New England Patriots fan and was a former member of the Benevolent and Protective order of Elks Lodge #1014 in Attleboro. He always enjoyed a good party and spending time with his family and friends ensuring to live his life to the absolute fullest.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Nicole Gagne and her fiancé Martin Praisner, both of Warwick, RI and R.J. Gagne Jr. of Seekonk; his siblings, Roger Gagne of Smithfield, RI and Denise Marks of East Providence and his mother-in-law, Sheila Smith of Bridgewater. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, several nieces and his dog “Brady.”

He was the son-in-law to the late Edwin Smith Sr. and his wife Betty Smith of East Providence.

He was excited to soon be a grandfather of a baby boy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 4 -8 p.m., in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro, MA.

A funeral service in celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 10 a.m., in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth.
