Carolyn M. (Dewey) Levine, age 72 of Seekonk, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 27, 2017, after a 16-year battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of Howard Levine. Carolyn was the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel (Andrus) Dewey. She graduated from Joseph Case High School in 1962 and Rhode Island College in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She received a Master of Science in Education from Simmons College in 1996. Carolyn had an elementary school teaching career that spanned 32 years. She was a dedicated teacher who taught mostly in Seekonk. Carolyn was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Swansea, MA where she served as Clerk for 47 years as well as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. She was the founder and member of the Paperback Pals book group for 12 years.

She was the devoted mother of Peter C. Levine and his wife Emily Bray Levine of Brunswick, Maine, and Dr. Deborah A. Levine and her husband Dwayne Driskill of Ann Arbor, Michigan; loving grandmother of Mira, Elizabeth, and Katherine; and dear sister of Barbara (Dewey) Jones, Garrett Dewey, Patricia (Dewey) Almeida, Walter Dewey, and the late Myles Dewey; loyal and cherished friend. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to thank Women & Infants Breast Health Center and Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association for their outstanding and compassionate care of Carolyn.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, MA. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church Swansea, 21 Baptist Street, Swansea, MA.
