Evan and Owen Pacheco have been fostering cats and kittens for a while now but never had seen one so in need of care as Amazing Grace. Amazing Grace, who was about 8 weeks old, was dropped off outside a shelter in a box with a handwritten note. She was in tough shape and we did not know if she was going to make it. She was extremely malnourished and needed lots of love and care. The shelter contacted Rita of Cat Adoption Team Services to help this kitten. She brought this little kitten into her home to save her. When they realized her back leg had been injured while she was living outside and would need surgery Evan and Owen decided to help raise the money for her surgery. They set off to think what they could do. They sold some homemade bracelets as well as items they purchased at soccer games and basketball games to raise the money. They figured out the vet bill would be about $400 for her surgery which seemed like a lot of money to them to raise. With the generous donations they were able to raise $516, well over what they hoped for.
Amazing Grace is on her way to becoming a wonderful kitten. She gained 14 ounces in one week!! Once she is healthy enough she will have her surgery and be looking for her forever home.
Thank you to everyone who helped make saving Amazing Grace possible.
