The Taunton Civic Chorus Spring Season Gets Underway

Posted

The Taunton Civic Chorus is going forward with its Spring season. The opening was postponed for several weeks as Omicron Virus infections increased after the holidays.

Open rehearsals for The British Invasion will take place February 17th and 24th. Anyone who would like to sing with the chorus is invited to come at this time. No auditions are necessary.

The President of the Taunton Civic Chorus Barbara Quill is optimistic that this time, the British concert will go forward. The concert practice was shut down in March of 2020 when Covid hit.

“Covid numbers are going down now,” said Quill. “ With precautions taken, we believe we can have a safe season as we did this past fall.” Vaccinations are required, and masks will be too as long as the rehearsal space requires them.

The Spring concert, aptly entitled The British Invasion: Take Two, will feature British music such as Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, The Who’s “Pinball Wizard”, and the Beatles “Eleanor Rigby”, “Imagine”, and medleys featuring other iconic Beatles’ works.

The Taunton Civic Chorus practices every Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the Berkley Congregational Church, 13 South Main St., Berkley. For more information check out the TCC Facebook page, the webpage at www.tauntoncivicchorus.com, or email at tauntoncivicchorus63@gmail.com.
