Rehoboth PTSA Update

Posted

It is with great pride that I announce the Rehoboth PTSA has been named a National School of Excellence, for both Beckwith and Palmer River! The 2017-2019 Schools of Excellence are designated in recognition of their commitment to building an inclusive and welcoming school-community where all families contribute to enriching the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. The National PTA's School of Excellence program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools that work to improve the educational experience and school environment for every child. ~ Congratulations! Look for information on the celebration of this distinction.
The National, State and Local PTA units have adopted the theme of “Parent Engagement" for this school year. Thus, we will be adding some new programs that support this theme. The PTSA Bookclub, chaired by Mr. Pirraglia, will begin this October. We will also sponsor an Astronomy night and a Music program through the Rehoboth Arts Council that support this theme, as well as the current programs we sponsor. Our priority will be to actively engage teachers and teacher representatives to the PTSA at both Beckwith and Palmer River. We have set our goals to include sponsoring parent engagement events; increasing membership; increasing on campus enrichment programs; and to continue supporting field trips, PEG grants, family events and enrichment programs.
Please attend the September 20th membership rally meeting and Concussion training that will be presented following the rally meeting. The concussion workshop is open to the public and presented by the Massachusetts Department of Health. Membership is open for the 2017-2018 school year.

Important September Dates:
6th - First day of school
16th - PTSA Booth - Harvest party
20th - PTSA Membership Rally / Concussion Workshop
25 – 29th PRES Book Fair
29th - Beckwith Color Run

We are looking forward to a great year!

Sincerely,
Susan
