Rehoboth Lions, “We Serve”

Posted

In 1957 the Rehoboth Lions received it’s charter, and since that time has been participating in community service projects in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, and throughout the world through Lions International.

Although eye research is a primary charity of Lions, we are not limited to that great work. In fact he Rehoboth Lions donate more than half of their yearly budget to local charities and individuals. Many of our donations go to the youth of Rehoboth, with Camperships to the Newman Y, the Boy and Girl Scouts, as well as holiday donations to needy families. In addition to these donations, we support, along with other organizations in town, a Senior Holiday Dinner, and Easter baskets to those in need.

Health and Welfare is a huge part of our community involvement. The Rehoboth Lions are happy to provide at no cost, hospital equipment such as hospital beds, wheel chairs, walkers and many other items. All it takes to receive items from our supply of equipment is a call to any Lion.

Our charities are funded by our various events. As many of you know we have seven clam boils each year, beginning in September, the famous Chicken Bar BQ, our annual golf tournament, and our very successful Cigar night.
As we move forward to the 2018-19 year, we look forward to increasing our membership, and continuing to increase the support we have to our Rehoboth community.

The Rehoboth Lions are planning a new member informational night at Francis Farm., October 24. If you are interested in finding out more about the Rehoboth Lions, contact Ray Medeiros, 508-496-0171, medeirr@comcast.net, or any member of the Rehoboth Lions.
