New Rehoboth Senior Center in the Works

Posted

Two months after the fire which destroyed the town’s senior center at 55 Bay State Road, plans for a new facility are in the works. Alternative locations are being considered by the newly formed COA Advisory Board.

Selectman Michael Costello will serve as the board chairman. Ryan DuVally will serve as the Vice-Chair. The other members include Selectman Dave Perry, Building Inspector William McDonough, and Ron Whittemore, a member of the Council on Aging Board of Directors.

Costello promised the construction process for the new senior center would be more efficient. “There were a lot of things that weren’t done properly (the first time),” Costello said.

In the meantime, the COA staff is working out of an annex at 183 Winthrop Street. They can be reached by calling 508-252-3372.
