GFWC Taunton and Raynham Junior Woman's Club News

Posted

The GFWC Taunton and Raynham Junior Woman's Club is lending support to other organizations by donating gift baskets to raffle off for their specific causes. Most recently they provided a Valentine's Day themed basket valued at $100 for Benjamin’s Chili Cook-off which raised funds for families in financial need due to caring for terminally ill children. Club Vice President Robin Gendron joined Stacy Travis-Mills, the organizer of the event in memory of her son Benjamin Mills, for the tasty fundraiser.

Robin Gendron also posed with Scott Caddy, Michael Caddy, Mitch, and Roger Gagnon who were participants in the cook-off. In addition, the Junior Woman's Club also helped with donations of two gift baskets to DECA at Bristol Plymouth High School who were raising funds for Homes for the Troops.

The club is currently in the process of planning its own fundraiser for scholarships and local charities; a Roasted Chicken Dinner on March 30th at The American Legion in Raynham, and is known for its own popular basket raffles, giving away over 20 themed gift baskets at their events.

They are now taking orders for take-out meals and selling tickets. Patrons are encouraged to order early and to reserve seating by calling Robin at 508-822-9298 or Cindy at 508 -558-5439.
