School Closures Extended to May 4th

Posted

Dear Dighton-Rehoboth Families,

Governor Baker announced today that he has extended the closure of schools to May 4th. This new extended closure for our school district is not surprising. Our professional staff is well positioned to offer a robust distance learning program.

Moreover, we have been identifying for several weeks families that might not have devices or internet access. We believe that by the end of the week we will have devices in the hands of those families. If you are aware of families still in need of assistance please let us know.

Further, "Our Grab and Go" meal plan will stay in place until further notice. I, along with my superintendent colleagues, have a phone conference with the Commissioner of Education this week. We will be gathering additional information and guidance from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in regard to next steps and will report back to our families as soon as possible. In the meantime, our distance learning program will continue until further notice.

Finally, please stay safe and reach out to your respective building administrative team if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Dr. Anthony C. Azar
Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District
