Cub Pack 1 - Den 3 Conducts Flag Ceremony

Posted

American Legion’s Ceremony for Disposal of Unserviceable Flags is a dignified tribute to the U.S. flag and to its symbolism. The American Legions ceremony is both legal and proper, and that it is an effective instrument for promoting enhanced respect for the U.S. flag.

Cub Pack 1, Den 3 participated in a ceremony 7:00PM on January 9th 2020 with members of the American Legion as written in the “Manual of Ceremonies.” Between the American Legion and Veterans Service Officer at Rehoboth, we collect over 1,400 flags annually and due to the volume of flags, we conduct a semi-annual disposal of Unserviceable Flags in January and on Flag Day in June. We encourage these ceremonies to enhance respect to the flag in our community and provide a much needed service to those who have flags needing to be retired.

The Veterans office is currently engaged with Boy Scout looking to earn his Eagle Badge by constructing Flag Disposal boxes for Unserviceable flags to be located Town Hall, Counsel on Aging and the American Legion.
Thank you Cub Pack 1, Den 3 for your participation in this year’s Ceremony of Disposal for Unserviceable Flags.
