Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative to Hold their Annual Spring Benefit

Posted by LisaPiscatelli

Hunger to Hope dinner event on May 22 at Lake Pearl Wrentham will feature an acoustic band, live auctions and a grand raffle.

In the midst of our busy day-to-day lives, it can be easy to miss – or overlook – the things that are happening right around us. It can be easy to forget that there are individuals and families in our community who lack food and basic resources.

Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative is hosting a Spring Benefit: Hunger to Hope on Wednesday, May 22 at 6pm at Lake Pearl Wrentham. Tickets are $50 and the public is invited to attend. The event will feature an acoustic quartet, live auctions and a grand raffle. The dinner selection is chicken piccata or vegetarian lasagna. Call 508-222-2933 for details and to RSVP.

This is an opportunity to learn about food insecurity in eastern Massachusetts and how you can assist our neighbors in need. Additional opportunities are available.
Grand Raffle tickets are $20, may be purchased in advance, and you do not have to be present to win. Enjoy a stay at the Francis Malbone House, an Historic Five Star Inn in Newport, Rhode Island; a gift card to the Newport Restaurant Group; and a VISA gift card ($750 package value, generously donated by Mansfield Bank).

AAIC is the leading agency in the region for providing year-round, emergency meals through their Food n’ Friends program. Last year they served over 20,000 hot meals at Daily Kitchens and Family Cafés. For some of the guests, this may be the only opportunity they have to eat on that day. In addition, they served 3,500 bagged lunches in the summertime to children in Attleboro, Norton and North Attleboro.

“It is important to recognize that assisting our vulnerable neighbors is only possible with the help of a core of 500 volunteers,” says Lisa Piscatelli, executive director of AAIC. “Generous support of area individuals, organizations, houses of worship, and businesses is also vital in these efforts.”

Donations are welcome and support programming that assists low-income, food insecure individuals. Event sponsor for Hunger to Hope is Acupuncture & Chiropractic Clinic. Dinner sponsors are Larson Tool & Stamping Company, Janet & Jim Richardi, and the Sullivan Family. Media sponsor is The Sun Chronicle. Dyer-Lake Funeral Home sponsors the program book.

“Two Left” Quartet musicians will be Brian Degon, Father Gregory Christakos, Reverend Steven Barrett and David Degon. This event will include dinner, auctions and merriment. Learn more at https://attleboroareainterfaithcollaborative.org/.

Inspired by diverse faiths and shared values, the mission of Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative is to advance a healthy, secure and meaningful life for all. The organization was founded in 1946.
