Raymond E. Corrigan, 91, of Pawtucket and formerly of Rehoboth, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen (Sadlier) Corrigan. Born in Attleboro, he was the son of the late Francis and Blanche (Desrosiers) Corrigan.

Ray attended Saint Cecelia School and Saint Raphael Academy. He was a self taught baker and owner of Ray’s Pastry Shoppe in Seekonk. He had a very successful business for many years; he retired and sold the bakery at the age of 50. A few months later he was offered a position as a pastry chef instructor in the Culinary Arts Program at RISD. This was an unforeseen career opportunity for him and he loved everything about it, especially his students. He was also a baker at Roger Williams University for many years. A lifelong passion of Ray’s was golf. He was a finalist at the age of 17 in the Rhode Island Junior State Amateur. He was also a passionate gardener and continued to come up with landscaping ideas until his final days. He enjoyed attending baseball games, whether it was the Boston Red Sox, Pawtucket Red Sox or his grandchildren’s. Ray loved entertaining family and friends. Many a gathering was held at his home where he was known for his clam cakes/chowder and french meat pies. He valued family vacations and no summer was complete without time spent on Cape Cod. Ray will be remembered as a loving, gentle, kind and generous man. He touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed. He is survived by five daughters, Sharon Corrigan of Pawtucket, Barbara Cabral of Seekonk, Mary Lou Lapin and her husband Mark of Cranston, Jane Calamar and her husband Ed of Seekonk and Susan Corrigan of Kittery, ME, three sons, Daniel Corrigan of Pawtucket, Michael Corrigan and his wife Lynne of Wrentham, MA and William Corrigan and his wife Maureen of Orange County, CA, thirteen grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Julia, Kristen, Shana, Paige, Sara, Liam, Kayla, Tyler, Jacob, Abi and Nick, four great grandchildren, Brooks, Elsa, Clara and Cate, 2 brothers, Francis Corrigan and William Corrigan and his wife LouAnn, four sister-in-laws, Maureen Sadlier, Kate Sadlier, Beat Sharkey and her husband Steve, and Regina Sadlier and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Donald Corrigan, Robert Corrigan and Eleanor Hayes.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at 9:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
