Please re-elect Laura Schwall

Posted

As one of your town constables, it has been my honor to work with Laura Schwall at virtually all our elections since she assumed the role of Town Clerk in the summer of 2013. During every election, Laura has worked diligently to ensure every voter's needs were accomodated and everyone who wanted to vote was able to.

Most individuals do not realize how important the role of Town Clerk is to the proper operation of Town government. For example, when Laura was appointed interim Town Clerk in March 2013, she volunteered -- meaning, no compensation -- on a full-time basis from March until Kathy's Conti's retirement, so she could ensure the proper knowledge transfer necessary prior to assuming the role full time. This is not a position you simply walk into with no experience or knowledge and expect to be successful.

Unlike Fred Flintstone who skedaddled from the quarry immediately at 4pm, Laura often works well into the late evenings to help residents. I have personally seen Laura at Town Hall evenings 9pm and later, staying after hours so she could meet a town resident who could not make it to Town Hall for some critical need before closing. How often do you see this type of public service?

Experienced. Professional. Committed. That's Laura Schwall.

Please join me on April 6th (or, earlier if you're voting by absentee ballot or during the 'early voting' period at Town Hall) and cast a ballot for Laura Schwall.
