John Oliver, 92, of Rehoboth and formerly of East Providence, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Life Care Center of Attleboro. He was the husband of Alice (Amaral) Oliver to whom he was married 71 years.

Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph Oliver and Sophie (Correia) Oliver- Silva. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII. John was a Production Manager for Beatrix Jewelry in Providence and Jewel Case Sales of Cranston before retiring. He was an avid golfer and played in many RI Amateur Golf tournaments and was a 7-time RIGA Senior Amateur Champion. He was an honorary member of the Wanumetonomy Golf & Country Club and was a 7-time club champion. He was also the first club champion of Pine Valley Golf Course. He also enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports fan. Above everything else he truly loved spending time with his family.

Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Joyce Kenney and her husband Raymond, Carolyn Kenney and her husband Brian and Jeanne Nunes and her husband Joseph all of Rehoboth, five grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Florence Lee and Louise Handfield.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Swan Point Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 5-8.
