Jean M. Grover

Jean M. Grover, 82, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Born in Springfield, Vermont she was a daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Massey) Grover. Jean was a school teacher for the East Providence School Department before she retired. She received her Teaching Degree from Lake Erie College in 1957. She taught at the Wheeler School in Providence for four years before joining the East Providence School Department. Jean taught at Central Junior High School, Grove Avenue School and retired from Martin Junior High as head of the Guidance Department. After her retirement she resided at Horton Estates in Rehoboth where she was very active in the community. She leaves one brother, John Grover of Wilbraham, Ma., two sisters, Jacqueline Schlumper of Conyers, Ga. and Janice Chase of Springfield, Vt. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lawrence Grover and close friend of the late Jean Pacheco. Her funeral and visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 8:30 AM in the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery. Contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
