Delma L. Norris, 85, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020, at Morton Hospital.

He was the husband of June M. (McEleney) Norris to whom he was married for 64 years.

Born in Harnett County, NC, he was a son of the late Archie Nuitt Norris and Bessie Mae (Stewart) Norris Parker.

Mr. Norris proudly served his country in the Navy and the Air Force for 22 years and was a Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War.  He retired from the Air Force in 1974 and then went on to work at Blue Cross Blue Shield for the next 20 years. He was a member of the Rehoboth Senior Citizens Club, Somerset Sportsman Club and the Rhode Island Dahlia Society. Del loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener, fisherman, country music and Patriots fan. He loved to work around the house, travel, and spend time with his beloved wife June.

Besides his loving wife he leaves two children, Thomas L. Norris and his wife Stacie of Swansea and Debra M. Carlstrom and her husband Keith of Attleboro, four granddaughters, Breelyn Rebello and her husband Lee, Brittany Carlstrom, Samantha Moylan and her husband Michael, Delaney Mae Norris, three great-granddaughters, Ava Mae Moylan, Brooklyn Ryan Moylan and Charlotte June Rebello. He was the brother of Archie Norris, Sandra Hobbs, Gloria Mae Mclamb, Connie Moore, Joan Dale Bacon, Donnie Parker, Curtis Parker, Ronnie Parker, and the late Raeford Cleo Norris, and Archie Nuitt Norris Jr. He also leaves his sister in law Gail McEleney Ardito.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020, from 5-7 PM in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, RI.  Funeral will be private.  The guidelines set forth by the Rhode Island Department of Health will be observed. Face coverings are required and only fifteen people will be allowed in the building at a time.
