Three PCD Students Named National Merit Scholar Finalists

Posted

Three PCD Seniors have qualified as finalists in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship competition: David Bauman of Rehoboth, Eli Byrnes and Jack Beretta.
The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). The nationwide pool of finalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
As finalists, Bauman, Byrnes and Beretta have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million that will be awarded later this spring.
