Rosanne Somerson, President, Rhode Island School of Design, Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts Valerie Tutson, Executive Director, Rhode Island Black Storytellers, Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts

PRESENTERS: For the Indigo Girls, Rebecca Lichtenfeld, human rights advocate, producer and director of social media impact of The Bertha Foundation
For Deloris Davis Grant, Ricardo Pitts-Wiley, co-founder of Mixed Magic Theatre
For Rosanne Somerson, Ilene Chaiken, executive producer of The Handmaid’s Tale and Empire, and creator of The L Word For Valerie Tutson, April Brown, actor and local program director for Turnaround Arts: Providence, and Betty Geiling, associate professor of psychology at Concordia College

SUMMARY: Trinity Rep established the Pell Awards in 1997 to honor artists whose careers exemplify the values of Senator Claiborne Pell, one of the principal founders of the National Endowment for the Arts. Guests at this benefit event will enjoy mixing and mingling with artists, business, political, and social leaders; catering by Russell Morin Fine Catering; and unforgettable moments, as the theater honors individuals who are committed to bettering the world through art, education, and activism.
