William T. “Til” Tilley

William T., “Til,” Tilley, 61, of Woodbine Street, Riverside, died unexpectedly on Saturday May 27, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Ellen M. (Thurber) Tilley.

Born in Providence, a son of Irvin Tilley of Barrington and Mary (Payne) Tilley of North Kingstown, he was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

Mr. Tilley was a service technician for Hobart for 31 years and previously was a welder for Electric Boat for many years. He was a graduate of East Providence High School Class of 1974.

William was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a past Grand Knight at the Riverside Bishop Hickey Knights of Columbus Council #3623.

A sports enthusiast he was a devoted New England Patriots Season Ticket Holder and also enjoyed NASCAR racing and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Besides his parents and his wife of 36 years, he is survived by two daughters, Alyson M. Tilley of Barrington and Jennifer L. Tilley of Providence; a son, William M. Tilley of Riverside; three brothers, Steven Tilley of Saunderstown, Keith Tilley of Barrington and Irvin Tilley of Barrington; a sister, Karen Cabral of Middletown and beloved Papa to his grandchildren, Emily and Madison Oldham and a third grandchild to be born soon.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
