Stephen Raymond Salgueiro died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 with family and loved ones at his side. He was born in East Providence, RI on May 7, 1964 to Raymond and Mary (Januario) Salgueiro. Steve grew up in East Providence until the age of seven when his family moved to Rehoboth, MA. He attended Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, graduating early – in 1981. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and Rhode Island College. Steve worked for over 30 years as a general contractor and finish carpenter and owned his own company, SRS Construction. He was passionate and meticulous about his work. Steve loved spending time with his family and friends, building and creating, taking his ‘girl’ for a ride in his ’68 GTO through the backroads of Rehoboth, kicking back with a Strongbow with his friends at the “Forte”, cheering on the Patriots, making people laugh, and the Constitution. To paraphrase a Steve-ism, he will be missed “like We The People”. Steve leaves his girlfriend of more than 16 years, Anne Dillon Haynes of East Providence, his daughter Stephanie Rae Salgueiro of East Providence; his parents Mary and Raymond A. Salgueiro; his siblings Cynthia Jewett and her husband William of Rehoboth and Cheryl Salgueiro of East Providence; his nieces Michelle Salgueiro of Boston, MA and Juanita Anthony of Rehoboth; the mother of his daughter, Holly Salgueiro, Rehoboth and former spouse Lois E. Bailey, East Providence. He also leaves numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, great-nieces, a great-nephew, and many, many dear friends.
