Sacred Heart School Drama Club in Action Mode

Posted

The Sacred Heart Players, a new student drama club directed by Mrs. Karen Nerney, a teacher at Sacred Heart School in East Providence, has scheduled its premiere performance.

The young thespians will stage a Dinner Theatre on Saturday, November 23, 2019, in the Church Hall on Taunton Avenue. A committee of dedicated parents with the unwavering support of Sr. Margaret Mary Schissler, Daughter of St. Mary of Providence, have provided assistance to bring the project to fruition.
The first annual Dinner Theatre premieres an original Catholic play inspired by Saint Louis Guanella, Sacred Heart’s beloved saint. Originally titled The Ascent, one of the players recently renamed it The Truest Message, demonstrating a deeper understanding of the play’s theme. All of the players have been working diligently to modify lines and develop relevant stage directions. The Assistant Director and Stage Manager, both students at the school, have shown a high-level of commitment to the cast of 17, of their upper grade peers.

A full-dress rehearsal is open to the public for a freewill offering on the Friday evening, November 22nd, in the school gymnasium. For the Dinner Theatre experience in the Church Hall, all tickets must be reserved in advance. For more information, please call the school @ 401-434-1080 or email the director at knerney@sacredheartepri.com.

The Sacred Heart Players of East Providence will host a Christmas Presentation on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12, 2019, at 7:00 pm in the Sacred Heart School Gymnasium. The evening promises to be one filled with Christmas cheer and the true meaning of Christmas. It will serve as an opportunity to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe and give glory to God.
