Russell J. Cunha

Russell J. Cunha, 75, of Grassmere Avenue, passed away Thursday March 30, 2017 at the Miriam Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Linda K. (Elliott) Cunha to whom he was married for 36 years. Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony and Anna (Faria) Cunha. Mr. Cunha was an Army Veteran. He was a truck driver for Almac’s for 28 years and then worked for the Narragansett Bay Commission before his retirement. He was an active member of the United Pentecostal Apostolic Temple Church. Besides his wife he leaves three daughters, Christine Andreozzi and her husband James of Foster, Angela Toller and her husband Trevor of Kentucky and Shirley Jean Staggs of Kentucky, one son, Russell Cunha and his wife Amie of Lincoln, eleven grandchildren, Justin Andreozzi, Domenic Andreozzi, Ava Cunha, Morgan Cunha, Christopher Fryman, Charles Simmons, Chad Simmons, Steven Simmons, Danielle Staggs, Amber Moore, and Kayla Staggs, fifteen great grandchildren, one brother, George Cunha and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anthony Cunha. His funeral will be held on Monday April 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5-8.
