Michael L. Blair

Michael L. Blair 72, of Allerton Avenue passed away Friday April 7, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Valerie (Nassar) Calia-Blair. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Samuel and Ruth (Bryers) Blair. Michael worked as an engineer for Channel 6 TV and previously worked for Channel 12. He was a US Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 35 in Providence. He loved attending NASCAR racing and was a NASCAR racing fanatic. He also enjoyed RV camping at the races with his wife. In addition to his wife he is survived by four brothers, Timothy Blair of Bourne, MA, Colin Blair of Attleboro, MA, Daniel and Samuel Blair of Fitchburg MA, one sister, Julie Blair of Lincoln, four step-children, William Calia of Johnston, Gary Calia of Riverside, John Calia of Johnston and Timothy Calia of North Hollywood, CA, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at 9 AM from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Martha’s Church 2595 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-7 PM.
