Grace S. (Kandiah) Gunaratnam

Grace S. (Kandiah) Gunaratnam, 102, of Rumford, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Selliah T. Gunaratnam. Born in Sri Lanka, one of eight children born to the late Sinnathamby and Pakkiam (Nannithamby) Kandiah, she had resided in Rumford since 1988. Grace was an elementary school teacher in Sri Lanka. She was a devout religious woman. Grace leaves a son, Dr. Gunaratnam Yogaratnam; two daughters, Dora “Kili” T. Rajaratnam and Mary Vathani Ariyam. She was the mother-in-law of David, Ariyam, Jeya and Ingrid; sister of Nagammah, Annapooranam, Ponnariyam, Anandam, Nadarajah, Selvamalar and Kumaraswamy and the grandmother of Sharmini, Romesh, Shilani, Dilani, Dinesh, Mark, Roshani, Roshan, Dimitri, Gloria, Derick and Joyce. Grace also leaves sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Gunaratnam Satgunam. Visitation will begin Saturday, April 8th at 9:30 a.m. followed by Services at 10:30 a.m. at William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro. Please omit flowers.
