East Bay Community Action Program Announces Key Staff Additions/Promotions

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is pleased to announce recent additions/promotions of key staff.

Lifen Zhong joins the organization as Director of Early Childhood Management Systems at its Head Start Programs. Zhong earned her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of New Hampshire. She is certified as a Pre-K CLASS Observer, is trained in Touch Points, and she fluently speaks both Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. Before joining EBCAP, Zhong worked as a Director of Operations for the Dimock Head Start/Early Head Start/Foundation for Learning and has over twenty (20) years of experience in educating pre-school children.

Cory Guglietti joins EBCAP as Director of Administration at its 19 Broadway, Newport location. Guglietti earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theater Performance from Rhode Island College, and is currently working on his Master of Business Administration from Capella University. Before joining EBCAP, Guglietti worked as the Executive Director of the YMCA of Greater Providence, as well as an Operations Director and a Youth Director for the YMCA.

Lini Cai Mickus, DMD joins EBCAP’s Dental Center as a Dentist at 19 Broadway, Newport. Dr. Mickus earned her DMD from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and her Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Sciences from Park University.

Before joining EBCAP, Dr. Mickus was honorably discharged as a Captain in the United States Air Force in August 2014, where she had been a Dentist assigned to various bases in Hungary (field unit), Italy, Washington, D.C., and South Carolina. Along with her military placements, she has worked as a general dentist in Arizona in both a private practice and a corporate practice.

Dr. Mickus has been an active supporter of an Arizona organization called “Feed My Starving Children,” Habitat for Humanity in South Carolina, and she has engaged in a dental humanitarian mission to Honduras.

Derek Matteson, RN has been promoted to the position of Director of Community Nursing at its Newport and East Providence Health Center locations. Matteson earned his Nursing Degree from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hobart & William Smith Colleges. He is also certified as a Diabetes Outpatient Educator. Before joining EBCAP, Matteson worked as a Nurse Care Manager at Thundermist Health Center in West Warwick.
