Several hours after the East Providence High School girls basketball team lost to Johnston High in the Div II State Title game at Rhode Island College on Saturday March 4th, EP head coach Michael Solitro was arrested for domestic simple assault. East Providence Police charged Solitro, a middle school teacher in the city, with hitting his wife.

Mr. Solitro could not be reached for comment. The girls team is about to enter into the open division basketball championship tournament. Athletic Director Gregg Amore has announced that Assistant Coach Zache Roche will coach the team.
