East Providence and Riverside Residents Honored at the Providence Country Day School

East Providence, RI — East Providence and Riverside students were honored at The Providence Country Day School Awards Assembly on Friday, June 3. Both middle and high school students received distinction for academic, athletic, and civic excellence and achievement.

Aquila Harper '16 received the J. Roderick Eaton Sportsmanship Award—Presented to a senior athlete whose sense of fair play, teamwork and dedication to sports is in keeping with the high standards of sportsmanship established by Coach Rod Eaton, PCD Lacrosse Coach 1967-1998. Harper also received the William R. Giunta Memorial Book Award—Given to a member of the graduating class who best exemplifies a spirit of concern and interest in people and the value of community.

Janaja Santos '16 received a Faculty Citation for leadership in academics, athletics, and the arts, and for the kind, loving way she treats all with whom she comes in contact.

John Shamgochian '17 received the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Rhode Island Book Award—Given to “that junior who ranks in the top ten percent of his/her class and who best combines the qualities of scholarship, leadership and achievement.”

Elliott Trendall '20 received the following awards:
Williams College Book Award—Given to the most outstanding Middle School student for combined scholastic achievement and extracurricular participation and leadership potential.
Middle School Academic Award—Given to the student who has achieved the highest academic average in the class over the past two years.
Middle School Awards for Outstanding Effort and Achievement in: Drama, History, Latin, Mathematics, Science, and Visual Art.
