Riverside, RI. -- Good Neighbors was selected as one of five finalists for the Red Sox Foundation IMPACT Awards in Rhode Island. The IMPACT Awards provide Red Sox fans in New England with the opportunity to support their favorite nonprofit by participating in an online vote. This year’s focus of the IMPACT Awards was on organizations that have improved health and wellness outcomes in their community.

After securing more than 26,000 votes, Good Neighbors, which operates a soup kitchen, food pantry, and day shelter, received the third place prize of $2,000. Additionally, the organization was invited to participated in an on-the-field recognition before the September 5, 2019 game at Fenway Park.

“It was an incredible feeling being down on the field at Fenway knowing that our friends and supporters made it all possible,” said Good Neighbors Executive Director, Ric Wild.

To Celebrate, Good Neighbors will host a Red Sox themed party on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 for members of the community. All are welcome to attend and enjoy a complimentary lunch at 11:30am featuring ball park-inspired food. Attendees are encouraged to dress in Red Sox attire and enjoy a showing of a classic Red Sox playoff game.
