William H. Costa Jr., 86, of Riverside, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, January 3, 2020. Born in Providence to William H. and Anna (Lopes) Costa, he was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War, serving stateside as a military police officer.

He worked for Royal Electric in Pawtucket, retiring after 32 years as supervisor. He then worked for several years as a bus driver for the Providence School District.

He will be remembered as a man who was happy and who people loved to be around. He was an avid golfer capitalizing on any opportunity to grab his clubs. Nothing could keep him from his bowling leagues right to the end, “still in first place”.

He is survived by his daughter Michele Rinn of Coventry; sons William Costa III of Florida & James Costa of California; sisters Gladys Costa of North Providence and Carol Motta of Riverside and by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Wednesday, January 8 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. His funeral service and interment will be private.
