Thomas W. McEntee

Posted

Thomas W. McEntee 75, of Riverside passed away peacefully and unexpectedly, January 18, 2021 at Miriam Hospital from complications unrelated to Covid. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Overdeep) McEntee.

Born in Providence, he was the son of Francis P and Ruth (Warburton) McEntee. Tom Proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a blue-collar man who worked for the Telephone Company and who cared about the things that truly mattered—his family and friends. After retirement, Tom, and longtime friend Steve Alienello, co-founded A+M Communications, still in operation today.

Tom was the brother to Karen Fonseca of Riverside; Marie Vandeputte and her husband Richard of North Kingstown; Kevin and Norma of Cranston; and the late Francis “Frankie”.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, he leaves his two children, Sara McEntee of Riverside and Sean McEntee and his wife Randi of Idaho as well as four cherished grandchildren, Luke, Hannah, Ella and Zoe.

Tom’s life was defined by a mistake 53 years ago when he walked into Bovi’s Tavern and met the love of his life. From that point on he became known as Linda’s husband. His greatest accomplishments came into his life in Sara and Sean. He became known by most as “Pa” when his precious grandchildren, Luke, Hannah, Ella, and Zoe graced his world.

Things he enjoyed most, his time spent at Colt State Park, long drives that lasted “forever”, stopping at Millers Roast Beef for a sandwich, onion rings and ice cream sodas—all of which were done in the company of his soulmate, Linda, and their beloved dog, Max. Tom also looked forward to his Friday lunches with the “boys”, being part of his bowling league (for which he owned his own shoes), and enjoying the “Teddy Beers” at the Club. He planned his days around Facetime with Hannah and Zoe and games and events with Luke and Ella. Although he didn’t really need them, he looked forward to his barber shop visits with Luke.

Tom was a husband, dad, brother, and friend. But most importantly he was Pa…. He was a very special man that will be missed every single day.
