The Narragansett Bay Symphony Community Orchestra is excited to announce its in-person 2021-2022 concert season

During this past spring small pods of NaBSCO musicians rehearsed at the Music Mansion in Providence, giving the orchestra members the unique opportunity of playing in small ensembles under the direcPon of Music Director, Maestro Kristo Kondakçi.

The Fall Opener Concert of the 2021-2022 season will take place on Sunday, October 31, at 3:00 p.m. in the recently renovated McVinney Auditorium in Providence. The concert will begin with a lively Mexican couples dance “Huapango” by Jose Pablo Moncayo, followed by “Dark Sky Soliloquy,” a work for strings by Stephanie Ann Boyd. Closing the concert will be Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s epic but mournful Symphony No. 6 in D minor, “The PathéPque.” The performance of this symphony is in tribute to all that was lost due to the pandemic and as a celebraPon of our return to live performances.

NaBSCO will perform its second concert of the 2021-2022 season on Saturday, December 18, at 8:00 p.m. in St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral presenPng a performance of George Frederick Handel’s “El Mesias.” In partnership with choral and other community organizaPons, Handel’s famous and well loved Messiah Part I, including the “Hallelujah” Chorus, will be performed enPrely in Spanish.

This concert season conPnues into the winter and spring of 2022. Mark your calendars with the following dates: March 6, 2022, 3:00 p.m., our Winter Concert at St. Peter’s by the Sea in Narraganse4, RI; April 10, 2022, 3:00 p.m., the annual Chamber Music Recital at St. Columba’s Parish Hall in Middletown, RI; and the Season Finale on May 22, 2022, 3:00 p.m., back at McVinney Auditorium in Providence.
