Stanley W. Wyrostek, 93, formerly of Riverside, died peacefully on March 22, 2017 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, Bristol. He was the husband of the late Frances R. (Lovely) Wyrostek.

Born in Warren, a son of the late Walter and Anna (Bartosewitz) Wyrostek, he lived in Riverside for 50 years.

Mr. Wyrostek retired as a Head Electrician from Brown University in 1985.

Stanley was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a member of the Warren D.A.V. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II where he was awarded two Purple Hearts.

A lifelong caregiver, he enjoyed helping others, spending time with his loving family and feeding wildlife. He leaves his caring staff at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, Bristol.

He is survived by two sons, G. Frank Wyrostek (Ret. EPFD) and his wife Bonnie of Seekonk, MA and John Wyrostek (Ret. EPPD) and his wife Mary of Rehoboth, MA; three daughters, Anne Dawson and her husband David of East Providence, Christine Jarvie and her husband John of Warwick and Virginia Twomey and her husband John of Riverside; a brother, Walter S. Wyrostek of Hebron, KY; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Marian F. Wyrostek.

His funeral will be held on Monday March 27, 2017 from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Alexander’s Cemetery, Warren.
