Sheila Marie Waring, 68, of Rumford passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family in her home on Saturday November 18, 2023. Faith and family were the focus of her life.

Formerly of Tiverton, RI, Sheila was a daughter of the late Ernest and Norma (Vierra) Simpson. She was the beloved wife of the late Seabury Bassett Waring, Jr. Sheila was an exceptional, loving, mother to her children, Marie Joanne Waring of Rumford; Adam Seabury Waring and his wife Tracy of Storrs, CT; and Mason John Waring and his wife Christine of Barrington. She was a dedicated grandmother to her six grandchildren, Patience Namaka and her husband Matthew, Isaiah Waring, Elijah Waring, Anna Waring, Isaac Waring, and Caleb Waring. Sheila adored her grandchildren, and it was a joy for her to help care for them over the years. She was delighted with the recent arrival of her great-grandchild, Levi Namaka. Sheila enjoyed wonderful relationships with her three sisters, Joanne Del Deo, Maura DeGala, Rosemary Ford, and her four brothers, Eric Simpson, Barry Simpson, Lloyd Simpson, and Grant Simpson.

Sheila was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in East Providence where she taught C.C.D. She was also a member of People of God’s Love prayer community. When she was not giving to her family, Sheila offered her time, charity, and prayers to others. She was an avid gardener and a skillful floral designer, among other talents. Sheila will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
