Posted

Scott Andrews, 51, of Riverside passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of September 25. He was born January 28, 1967 in Providence, RI. He is survived by his fiancé Michele Wigton of Warwick, RI; his brother, Mark Andrews (Nancy) and their son Tyler of Bristol, RI; and his sister Beth Andrews of Millis, MA.

He was a 1985 graduate of Barrington High School and of the University of Rhode Island where he received a B.S. in business administration. He worked as a production manager at the Pilgrim Screw Corp. in Providence for 28 years until his recent death.

Scott was a real sports enthusiast. At Barrington High School, he played hockey, football and rugby. Because of immense love for the game of ice hockey, he continued to play for various club teams and travel teams his entire adult life. He organized teams for tournaments which traveled to Massachusetts and Canada. He rarely missed attending any of his nephew Tyler’s sports activities. For several years he was also a member of the Providence Rugby Club team. As an amateur golfer with his friends, one of his proudest moments was recently shooting his first game under 100 (a 94 score). He and his brother enjoyed motorcycling and raced for several years in NH and on the track at Daytona.

Scott was extremely devoted to his fiancé Michele. They loved going to the beach and attending local music events, especially Steve Smith and the Nakeds. They were two of the Naked’s biggest fans.

Scott’s life is noteworthy for his very large group of devoted friends. He was particularly attentive to Michele and his nephew Tyler. He was a best friend to his brother and sister and a loyal son to his now deceased parents Jane and Earl Andrews. His bright smile, his optimistic outlook, great sense of humor, his personal reliability and responsibility, and his unwavering pursuit of life leave many hearts broken upon his death.

We invite you to remember Scott and celebrate his life. Calling hours 4-7pm Tuesday October 2 at Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside, RI. Service at Smith-Mason Funeral Home Wednesday at 10:30am with internment at Forest Chapel Cemetery, Barrington, RI.
