Richard J. “Dipper” Laurino, 80, of Riverside, RI, son of the late Serafino “Larry” and Nicolina (Simone)Laurino, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was the devoted husband of the late Carolyn Faye (Reeves) Laurino and cherished father to Robin Laurino, Brenda McGee and her husband Daniel, Nicolina Doran, and her husband Michael, and Carolanne Hulsebus. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Elizabeth Bruns and her husband Josh, Kelsey Tewksbury, Thomas Sullivan, Brandon Hulsebus, Brianna Hulsebus, Daniel McGee II and Patrick McGee.

He was the brother of Anna Barnes, Ronald Laurino and the late Angelo Laurino, Linda Lawson, and Raymond Laurino, Sr.

Mr. Laurino was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Richard "Dipper" served as a Rhode Island State Marshal for 34 years. He graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Richard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was an active Mason, Past Master of Overseas Lodge No. 40, as well as a Member of the Providence Chapter and Council No. 1 and Past Commander of Calvary Commandery No. 13.

Richard made an impact on those who were blessed to have known him. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was a member of the Riverside Congregational Church.

His funeral service will be held Saturday February 11, 2023, at 10:00am in the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are on Friday, February 10,2023 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm in the funeral home.
