Paula J. Fournier, 57, formerly of Central Avenue, East Providence died unexpectedly on December 8, 2018. She was the beloved wife of James N. Fournier.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joaquim “Jake” and Alice (Almeida) Saraiva, she lived in East Providence for many years and in Harrisville for 6 years.

Mrs. Fournier was a shipping clerk for Rexam-DSI for many years. She also was co-owner of the Ginny-B Camp Store.

Paula was a member of the Rhode Island PT Cruiser Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts, camping and foster cats.

Besides her husband of 35 years, she is survived by a son, Neal J. Fournier of Providence; a daughter, Alison L. Fournier of East Providence; two grandchildren, Matthias L. Fournier and Mittilda Chapa both of Texas; a brother, Joaquim Saraiva Jr. of Warwick and two sisters, Gail Fredrick of East Providence and Lisa R. Duarte of East Providence. She was the sister of the late Debra Saraiva.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday December 15, 2018 in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 2 p.m. Calling hours are Saturday 12 noon-2 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted.
